Opening Strategy

The first few moves define the entire game:

• Center control: The center hexes are the most valuable — they connect to the most neighboring hexes
• Balanced expansion: Don't commit too heavily to one side early
• Claim key intersections: Hexes where multiple paths cross are strategic goldmines

Territory Building

Build connected walls of your color to divide the board. A wall from one edge to another is nearly impossible to breach.

The Bridge Connection

Two of your pieces with exactly one empty hex between them form a "virtual connection" — your opponent can block one path but you can always complete the other.

Influence (hexes you could control) vs. territory (hexes you actually control) — secure your territory before expanding your influence.

Defensive Techniques
